Father and Son Turn Trash Into Giant Transformer Robots

Great Big Story visits Hunan, China to meet metal working father-son duo Yu Zhilin and Yu Lingyun who, since 2010, have been turning scrap metal and old car parts into giant sculptures, including Transformer robots inspired by the Transformers film series.

“Their first design took about a month and a half to build, but they’ve since created an impressive array of statues, giving new life to discarded car parts along the way. It’s not just the success of their new business that makes this father-son duo happy; the craft itself has brought them closer together.”
