Members of the Danish Chamber Orchestra were treated to an unusual experiment at a recent performance. The musicians (and the conductor) were given chili peppers to eat, and were then instructed to play a piece of classical music. Most of the musicians couldn’t handle the heat; a lot of sweating, panting, and even some tears ensued. They still put on a surprisingly impressive performance, but when the song finally ended they couldn’t have been more relieved to race offstage.
