Last Surviving 9/11 Rescue Dog is Treated to Best Day Ever

Bark Post teamed up with 1 Hotels to honor 16-year-old golden retriever Bretagne, the last known living search and rescue dog who worked at Ground Zero after the 9/11 tragedy, with an unforgettable day of fun an excitement around New York City.

“As one of the 100 search and rescue dogs deployed at Ground Zero, golden retriever Bretagne is special in the eyes of many New Yorkers. Now 14 years later, she is the last known living 9/11 search and rescue dog. To honor Bretagne and to pay respects to the upcoming September 11th anniversary, BarkPost teamed up with 1 Hotels to give Bretagne her best day ever for her 16th birthday. Bretagne and her owner/handler Denise Corliss were invited back to New York City for a day curated to honor their work in search and rescue, as well as celebrate Bretagne’s sweet sixteen.”
