Never tell me the odds because no matter what: the truth is stranger than fiction. These moments caught on camera seemed absolutely impossible until they actually happened.
If someone came up and told me any of the events herein, I’d scoff. Scoff, I say! You’re telling me that a pilot survived getting sucked out of the window of a plane? I still barely believe it. Despite my incredulity, however, these events occurred.
In fact, someone took a photo as proof.
The good people of Reddit collect these moments on a subreddit called r/nevertellmetheodds. Fortunately, these moments are even more impressive and interesting than the Millenium Falcon doing the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs (which is impossible since a parsec is a unit of measure).
Listen, you can trust me. I’m a nerd. I know the odds are against any of this happening, but I checked the sources, and they’re all true.
As Audrey Hepburn said: “Nothing’s impossible. The word itself says ‘I’m possible.’”
Here are the most unlikely moments caught on camera that defied the odds and actually happened:

17. A Military Helicopter from MCAS Miramar (Former home of Top Gun) performs an emergency landing on a beach in front of Kenny Loggins who recorded the song “Danger Zone” for the movie Top Gun.

19. Just a snake crawling out of my wife’s car at customs during a random check.
20. Lightning strikes the road on I-10 in Florida causing a chunk of asphalt to go through the windshield of a truck.
21. Catching the same fish a month and a half later.

31. I took a timelapse of my flight and caught the plane getting struck by lightning.

34. Bird flew at precisely the right height and velocity to successfully shit inside my car through my open window while I sat in line at a drive thru. Almost a bullseye on the trip button.
35. Luckily for the people in the truck, their search for a lawyer is over before it began.
36. Soldier survives after 15,000 ft fall as parachute fails to open correctly in US.
37. I tried swatting this fly and thought I missed.
38. Thought I was out of Tums.
39. I guess this happened.
